Linthwaite House
Linthwaite House, a 36-bedroom country house hotel, is situated on a hilltop overlooking Windermere, making it the perfect base from which to explore the scenic surroundings. There is plenty for guests to do around Linthwaite’s beautiful grounds. Try your hand at a game of boules on our pitch or an eye-catching giant outdoor chessboard invites you to play a game. Take a stroll along our walking trails while admiring the local fauna, flora and sculptures, or go for a cycle and explore the ‘chocolate-box’ village of Bowness-on-Windermere. There are also two row boats available on our tarn.
Matson Ground Cottages
On the doorstep of Windermere Golf Club, Matson Ground Holidays has six cottages set on an idyllic organic working farm, which surrounds the course. The cottages sleep 2,4,5 or 6 people, all are high quality and set in peaceful surroundings but conveniently located. Matson Ground Lodge and Low Cleabarrow Cottage are both dog-friendly, if you’re bringing your dog to the Lake District too. Stays can be customised with brunch boxes, food and wine available to order in advance. Low Cleabarrow Cottage, which sleeps six people in three bedrooms, is particularly well placed for Windermere Golf Club, within easy walking distance.
